A Humbling Experience (To Be Heard)

The day before yesterday was a blur from start to finish. Not because I'm unable to remember (after I sit down to think, of course) it, but because it flew by at rapid speed; much like The Roadrunner running from Wile E. Coyote, my day ran away from me.
This week is a little more chaotic than normal. This is the week before Owen's seventh birthday party and I would like for everything to be perfect. Upon further inspection of my motives regarding said perfection, I realize that I'm trying to "keep up with the Jones'" so-to-speak. I'm doing things such as: weeding the flowerbeds and washing the outside of the house & these things make no difference in the grand scheme.
If people come to judge, they'll judge regardless of how clean our home is or how many weeds are in my flowers, regardless of how hard I try to make it impossible for that to happen.
The real star of this party is not the house or the yard, but the young man that saved my life. He'll be 7 on August 26th & that, my friends, is what matters.

Set your affection on things above, not on things of the earth.
