Give God the Rest

Today, 5 years ago at 9:56 a.m., we welcomed Owen Andrew Wilson into the world. This energetic, loving little boy changed my life. COMPLETELY (in all good ways). There are days that he makes me so mad that I could pinch his little head off. If your children aren't perfect, then you know what I'm talking about. If your children are perfect, then by all means, judge. There are days when I could just eat him up, he's so sweet.

Either way, he's our little Shooga Wooga (also know known as Woog) & little does he know but, I'll spend the rest of my days breathing down his neck making sure he's safe & loved. I can't believe it's been five years. I think every Mom must go through this. It's scary. To know your baby is growing up & is no longer a baby. The only thing I can do is continue to try my best to mold him into an amazing, God loving individual & give God the rest.

fragments.

Life is chaotic in our home these days. To be honest, life is almost always chaotic at our house; more so with the arrival of Baby Evan.    We are blessed to welcome a 9 lb. 7 oz. little addition to our family as of March 15th, 2013. He is just as handsome as his big brother, Owen.

I've had no extra (what's extra?) time to blog since before Evan was born. It just so happens, April 2013 marks my third year of blogging. I'll have a cardboard cookie, thank you very much.

After six weeks of sleeping in segments, I'm exhausted & growing accustomed to sleep deprivation. Our home has been a cesspool of filth in the recent weeks & I've finally got it back on track. The floors are sparkling (okay, sparkling is stretching the truth a bit) and the laundry is tamed.

Evan's bedroom is finished, minus a few small details & Spring Cleaning is going full blast at our house. And by that, I mean I have been donating bags and bags to Goodwill. Andy called me & Owen hoarders and I'm out to prove him wrong.

Although there's not a lot of sleep happening at our house, we're all stocked up in love.

My twenty minutes are up. I hear a little voice that needs me.

while you were sleeping #6

I'm notorious for snapping shots of my sleeping munchkin. It's in those quiet moments (quiet with an almost 4 year old boy is rare), I am able to reflect on years passed.
He'll be grown before I know it and I pray that I will look back and say that I've done my best to lead by example . The best thing I can do is love him with all my heart & lead him in the best possible direction and I have Faith God will do the rest.

Make Your Own Stamps

I do lots of crafts with my munchkin, Owen during the day. We get subscriptions to different magazines and one I love is Family Fun. I discovered a great little stamp in the Special Holiday Issue. I did one stamp with Owen's name and one stamp with Love. Owen's name didn't turn out (it's very important to get the Puff Paint level; in the process of the 2nd try drying now!) and Love did.

Here's the sample of Love:

Scrap Wood and Puff Paint

Apply Paint

Rinses Right Off with Warm Water

I kinda like how it's not perfect :)

A Shadow Box of Love For My Foundation

This has taken me months to finally decide how I wanted to do the shadow box. I decided since she and I have always spent time together at the beach, that's how I would present it. The shells inside are all shells from Surf City, NC that she and I picked up together over a long period of time. There is one that we found on Jekyll when the pictures were taken. Gramma, Owen and I had a lovely day on the beach that day in April of 2011. It had been one year since Smokey, Owen, she and I had taken our last trip with him to the same area. It's funny, I didn't realize it until we were there and neither did she, it was somehow meant to be (for us to go).

The Baby's Ear shells are a tribute to him and his love for the beach and the entire box is a tribute to her because she used to make shell pictures when she was raising her children living on Topsail Island, NC in the "round house" (which, as far as I know, is still there).

The first step was painting the box white, then came gluing sand (from Owen's sandbox) to the back board. After, I decided which pictures to use, printed them out and glued them to a netting that came on Owen's new sand toys from the beach the other day. I added some star scrapbooking paper, a Family word cut-out, driftwood  and lots of beautiful shells we picked up together! Tadaaaaaaaaaaaah!
